What’s in my changing bag?

I thought I’d share with you what I carry in my day to day life as a mummy, in my fabulous changing bag!

The Bag Itself

So firstly, I have a back pack style changing bag, of which I bought from eBay for like… Less than £20! It’s water proof and has literally tons of space inside with various pockets and compartments to keep things separate. I’m sure many of you have seen the Facebook ads that show backpacks similar to this with someone displaying all the many items they can fit inside. It’s no lie – there’s a lot of space, and I’ve got the cheapo unbranded version too! I love how it’s neutral so that the husband will carry it with no embarssment. It has a wet wipe pocket on the side with a zip, so you can get a wipe out easily without burying your head inside to find some.

In the front pocket it has thermal pockets for bottles to either keep them warm or cold whatever you require.

Mummy Necessities

Where to start…

I no longer carry a hand bag, for obvious reasons… Like, I’m no octopus! It’s all gotta go in one bag mate. So I have the following items for myself:

  • Purse
  • Pads
  • Tampons
  • Ibuprofen
  • Spare pair of pants (cus you just never know)
  • Spare t-shirt (for breast leakage purposes)
  • Breast pads
  • Lip Balm
  • Bottle of water

I haven’t yet needed any of these items whilst out and about except the lip balm and water… But I darent take anything out to make space because guaranteed I’ll then suddenly need it!

Baby Bits

Fletcher is a dribbly, milky, poop machine and so he has his many needs! I would also like to add that I’m not just a mega clean freak with the anti bacterial things, it’s because he has Cystic Fibrosis that I have to ensure I have anti-bac wipes and hand sanitizer at all times. So here goes…

I also usually have a muslin but it’s not pictured in the featured image.

  • Changing mat roll with nappies and wipes inside. (See review here: My Mummy Must-Have: JoJo Maman Bébé Folding Changing Mat Review )
  • Roll of nappy bags
  • Baby powder
  • Spare Vest, Romper, a cardigan socks and sunhat
  • Small durable picnic blanket
  • Comforter, rattle, mini taggie blanket and soft play book
  • Kids Factor 50 suncream (it’s like, roasting currently)
  • Anti-bac wipes and hand sanitizer
  • Dummy Clip
  • Muslin

I have to remember to top up the changing mat roll with nappies when I know I’ll be out for a while, and after I’ve used them ready for the next day. But overall, I use most of this stuff! We’ve only ever had one accident whilst out, when he was sick in the car so I had to give him a new outfit etc… But otherwise I’ve not had to use the spares. Currently, it’s super hot and so I have sun hat and cream just in case but I typically keep him shaded. As it goes into winter and he gets older I’m sure the contents changes! I’m just glad the milk is on tap…. If you know what I mean. I haven’t got to fuss about with bottles and formula so that helps!
