Gentle Sleep – Our Way

IMG_20181109_071022_025.jpg

When you have a baby, you aren’t told how to parent, you aren’t told how to make your baby sleep, how to keep them sleeping and you soon learn that there are many judgements in the world of parenting and no matter which decision you make, someone thinks it’s the wrong way. Well, I just want to say, sod it… do it your way who gives a shit. I’m going to share with you our bedtime routine and what I have done to have a good night-time sleeper

6 Months Of Motherhood

IMG_20180926_105505_391.jpg

My baby is officially 6 months old.. yes, I’m a bit late in writing this blog. In fact where the f**k have I been right!? I don’t know about anyone else, but I’d say that from 4 months onward, shit hits the fan

From Breastfeeding To Formula – The Transition

IMG_20180829_124030

So Fletcher is 5 months old and what a wonderful breastfeeding journey we’ve had. However, I have decided the time has come to begin our transition onto formula feeding. I have my reasons for doing this, as I know many people will ask why I’m stopping. I feel extremely proud of myself for going 5 months exclusively breastfeeding (I deserve a gift for giving my husband the easy life to be honest… hint hint, nudge nudge…just kidding). I just wanted to share with you how the transition has been for us and why I chose to do it

Keeping Cystic Fibrosis Organised

IMG_20180825_172419

Having a child who has CF means you have a lot more to remember and maintain on a regular basis. This begins with their medication, diet and also physiotherapy, it also includes the cleaning routine you choose to follow in your household and when travelling. Fletcher is 4 months old and our routine is very simple at the moment. Keeping organised is key to building a good routine with Cystic Fibrosis

Baby Weaning – Tips, Tricks and Our Routine

IMG_20180815_122808

I thought I’d share with you my experience weaning Fletcher and what I have found helpful and easy to ensure I’m organised. I have a few tips that have helped me throughout the process, to ensure Fletcher also tries a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables

Dispatches: Breastfeeding Uncovered – My Opinion

IMG_20180731_083946_524.jpg

I’ve caught up with the Dispatches program about breastfeeding which was on Channel 4 recently. I couldn’t help but write a blog sharing my opinion on the program and how my breastfeeding experience has been 3 months in

3 Month Sleep Regression – help!!

IMG_20180726_124203

I have recently discovered what a sleep regression is, and I’d like to un-discover it please!? In fact, the discovery of it was fine, but I’d just like to trade in my baby if that’s possible? He’s broken

3 Month Sleep Routine

IMG-20180714-WA0030.jpg

Fletcher is now 3 months old and he is such a good sleeper and has one hell of a body clock so I decided to get him into a routine. I first tried an online guide and then decided to just follow his own routine… lets call it, baby led routine

First Baby Free Night Out Exclusively Breastfeeding

img_20180706_190435.jpg

So, I had my first “Baby Free” night out on a Friday night. It was our 1 year wedding anniversary – so I guess we felt like… well we should probably celebrate this somehow, and I did rather fancy a nice meal. An uninterrupted one, where I’m not just panicking about the possibility of having to get my boob out in a restaurant to feed my baby

What’s in my changing bag?

I thought I’d share with you what I carry in my day to day life as a mummy, in my fabulous changing bag

Being A Parent Of A Cystic Fibrosis Baby

imageedit_1_2462192229

Ahead of Cystic Fibrosis Week, I have been asked to write an article about our experience finding out Fletcher has Cystic Fibrosis. What we learnt within the first 2 months and how we accepted it into our family. I will also share my tips and tricks that we follow in our household and what we try to avoid

Social Life Of A Mummy

You find yourself looking at Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat, watching others having fun. Watching them drink, meet friends and having an exciting life and you think to yourself… Will I ever have fun again

Cystic Fibrosis – First Clinic Visit

IMG_20180606_135049.jpg

Fletcher had one of his first of many clinic visits yesterday. This brought a lot of bad memories flooding back, which felt really odd. We also signed him up for a research study that they are testing on CF infants which can help future generations

Mummy Misery And The Irritating Public!

baby-blues-have-i-control-power-i-must.jpg

During the first 7 weeks of having a baby I have definitely experienced those well known baby blues. Luckily nothing horrendous warranting a trip to the doctor’s, but enough to make me want to close the door to the bathroom and scream for a second before resuming mum life as normal

Weekend away with a newborn – did I survive?!

IMG_20180526_191325_168.jpg

This bank holiday weekend we took a short trip to Southampton to see Scott’s parents. At first I was sceptical about being away from home comforts and having to go on a 2 and a half hour drive with a 6 week old, who seems to be a bit hit or miss with being asleep in a car journey or screaming at the top of his lungs. Which way did it end up….well a bit of both

Express Yourself! – Daddy Duties & Difficulties

IMG_20180515_072221_753.jpg

I’ve finally gone back to expressing breast milk again now that Fletcher has got the hang of the booby latch again. He was going through a stage where he was being diffult when latching because I introduced the bottle too early alongside, but now that he’s nailed it I have brought the bottle back! This is now where Daddy comes in – wahoo

The 3 C’s- Crying, Cranky and Clingy

wonder-weeks-leap-and-so-it-begins

So I kept seeing people raving about an app called “The Wonder Weeks” which basically explains the milestones and developments your baby goes through each week. And boy does it explain a lot! I just thought I had a miserable baby on my hands but it turns out he’s going through his first “leap”

Baby Brain Exists!

forgetting-dryer-300x210

I very almost threw out the entire contents of the fridge in anger, thinking everything was out of date 2 days after doing the food shop, because baby brain made me think I was a week ahead of the actual date.

I can honestly say that baby brain is 100% truth and it definitely exists

Do you “mum-worry”?

we-have-a-newborn-baby-in-the-house-20394

Do you worry when they cough? Do you worry when they sneeze? Do you worry about the colour their poop was today? Do you worry if they sleep too long? Do you worry when they are too quiet? Do you worry when they’re sick? Do you worry when their skin is dry? Do you worry when you leave the room? Do you worry when they don’t feed for long? Do you worry when they feed too long? Do you worry when they cry? Do you worry when they don’t? Do you worry when they’re in the car? Do you worry when they’re outside? Do you worry about worrying

Cystic Fibrosis – Fletcher’s Shock Diagnosis.

CysticFibrosis_May

Some of you may already be aware from my social media post, we found out recently that Fletcher has been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. I would like to write updates along the way of Fletcher’s experience with the condition to educate those out there (like us) who aren’t familiar with the condition; right from the start to show his journey through the good times and bad

Breastfeeding Boasting

IMG_20180423_155005

So I thought I’d write a blog to share with people what I’ve found has helped me to successfully and comfortably breastfeed and what I have found most difficult so far Despite my experience being a good one compared to other people, I have had struggles to get to this point. Basically in the hope to give anyone who is worried about breastfeeding some tips and tricks that worked for me. I also would like to say that it doesn’t matter if breastfeeding doesn’t work out for you, because at the end of the day… fed is best no matter what

First 2 weeks with a newborn & postpartum pains.

IMG_20180414_231204

Fletcher is now 2 weeks old! What an experience it’s been so far. I can honestly say I wasn’t expecting to go through many of those experiences. By that I don’t mean looking after a newborn, I mean the postpartum shit I’ve had to deal with. The things no-one tells you about! Pre-warning you folks now that this is going to be a pretty TMI (too much information) blog

My Birth Story!
IMG-20180421-WA0005

I’ve been waiting until I’ve felt relatively human to write this blog, because let’s be honest….having a baby totally takes all your energy and brain power and leaves you with nothing but cotton wool brain. It’s not going to be short, so get comfortable! Where do I even begin
